How to change the menu items for KnowAll Matrix users

Introduction

This article will introduce you to editing the menu items for your system users.

How to change the menu items for users

  • Log in as a System Administrator.
    • You will need to be logged in as a user with access to the Configuration menu on the top toolbar. If this isn’t visible, please contact an admin user or Bailey Support.
  • Click on Configuration and then Navigation.
  • Under Menu Editor, click OPAC.
  • This will display a hierarchy of all the relevant submenus. Expanding these will show the different options available in that menu. In the below example, the Browse menu options are being displayed (on the left hand side of the screen).
  • To select an item on the left hand side, click on it. Sometimes you may need to click on it a second time.
  • The right hand side of the screen will display the properties for the item that has currently been selected. In the above example, this is the “By Media Type” menu option in the Browse menu.
  • You can change these attributes by clicking on the Edit button, which will display the Edit Menu Item window (below).
  • Under the Common Attributes tab, you can change the text of the menu item, whether or not it is selectable, enabled or even visible, just by typing in or ticking the relevant boxes.
  • When you’re finished editing the item, click Save Changes.
